Kelowna Family + Newborn Photographer: Golden Hour
If you follow me on instagram (@tracydawnphotography_lifestyle) you know there is a certain type of light I’m drawn to for outdoor sessions. That warm golden glow which can only be achieved at golden hour, which is an hour before the sun sets.
This warm light is the most flattering light to shoot in. When you shoot in the sun during earlier times, the outcome will be harsh shadows and those raccoon eyes no one wants on display in their images. Trust me, golden hour is WORTH IT!
Listen, I’m a mom of two. So I get bedtimes, I do. But I’m also whole heartedly aware of how quickly this whole motherhood thing passes swiftly by. How rapidly one stage turns into the next, without you ever realizing it. Without a proper goodbye to the previous stage.
So, when I think about keeping my babies up one night so I can get this stage of our lives documented, I know what’s important to me. I can live with a little less sleep one night, but I cannot live without having these moments, our moments, preserved. These are pieces of us, (of YOUR FAMILY) that will be frozen in time.
Tomorrow I, (or YOU) could wake up and not even realize that the previous day was the last time you were going to be in that particular stage. Whatever stage that may be.
So, mamas, keep them up one night. Watch a sunset, bask in the sun drenched glow while embracing your babies. Fully take to heart these fleeting moments. Your future self, will thank you.
